This post is written for me more so than for any other people.  While writing this post, I can feel a strong sense of emotion built up from within.  There is lump in my throat almost as if it will choke me any moment.  I know I want to make it in internet business success this year.   No more procrastination, no more excuses, no more tire-kicking frustration.  It must be straight work and consistency.  In actual fact, it is because of an email I received recently.  In this email, this guy enclosed an video in which this particular phrase was used.  That prompts me to use it as my post title.   Derek  Gehl of Internet Marketing Center is going to unveil on January 24, 2008 at 10 am a never-seen-before system that will send *shockwaves* through the Internet marketing world and most likely tick off his competitors…  And this is going to be an explosive POWERFUL, step-by-step turnkey Internet business that the potential for us to earn up to 5-figures or more income in as little as 90 days!

Now, this post is NOT written to promote his system.  and it is NOT written as a paid post.  No, no..  This post is written just because I am feeling emotional about it.  Perhaps because this is still the first month of the New Year and Chinese New Year has not passed yet, maybe it is the feeling of that New-Year-Must-Make-New-Resolutions, whatever.  I am hoping that this year 2008 will be my most profitable year ever!  Hopefully this positive vibe and energy will pass on to you.  May this be my journey as well as yours.

Caterpillar’s Journey

It is fascinating to see that caterpillars knows their destination.  They move slowly yet surely toward their ultimate goal of becoming a butterfly, the DNA in them programmed and propelled them to do so.   I keep asking me this question “what if caterpillars have their own mind?”  They decide green leaves contain too much toxic in them, they taste too bitter, too sappy and awful.  They are hard to chew and all other excuses.  What if caterpillars decide that it is too crumblesome to climb to a higher place, what if they decide they won’t shed their skin, they want to be free and not trapped in a cocoon.  But no, this is not what its DNA says.  Caterpillar fixes itself in morphing into a butterfly, with a single purpose in its journey.

sinple purpose for blogging success

I believe we are destined to be successful.  Our DNA is programmed to be a winner, in fact we beat millions of others in that initial spurt and become who we are today.  I believe we have a course to follow.  Blogging for succes is very much like the journey of the caterpillar.  There is not short cut, we need to believe that we are programmed to success, along the way, we just need to take one step at a time.  These are things I believe that as bloggers, we need to do daily:

  1. Set a goal to read and learn from other successful blogger.  Read at least 10 posts from different bloggers and take note of what they say.
  2. Set a goal to at least post 3 to 5 comments daily.  This is done so you may have some backlinks to your blog.
  3. Write at least 5 posts per week, if possible on a daily basis.
  4. Write articles to article sites so you are able to get links from their readers.

If we do otherwise and think there are shortcuts, we are like the “caterpillars who think their have their own minds and destination.”  The journey of a thousand begins with the first step….. and  then next….and next..

Top CATERPILLAR choice of the day

Many a time people comment to me, “hey, you have been busy, didn’t see you for a while”, to which I always reply “Oh ya, my business come from my busy-ness“.  This phrase sounds correct, business seems to be done with much haggling in marketing places, in the midst of unbearable voices sometimes, with lots of body languages, hands swinging in all direction, sometimes provative and offending languages and gestures.  The notion of people involving in business seems to be one who is constantly on the move, who has to engaged all the time on the phone or in conversation with prospective buyers and who has to rush through traffic to get to an appointment in time lest the prospective client would change his mind to conclude a deal.  All these seem to say that business ought to be conducted in “busy-ness ”.

So what has this meditation to do with business?

Napoleon Hill wrote a book Think and Grow Rich that has practically changes the lives of many successful people.   The book was the result of interviewing over 500 great people, like Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Theodore Roosevelt, John D. Rockefeller, Dr. Alexander Graham Bell, Wilbur Wright, Charles M. Schwab, and many other great names.  Imagine this book is the compilation of all the great thinkers and philosophers.  The very basic message is one has to get right his core, his inner self to discover the greatness and richness in him to be successful.

So in our business, be it physical or online, meditation (or prayer for some) plays a vital part in our success.  In fact meditation is known to produce other good “side effects”, calmness, lower blood pressure, reduce heart beats to prolong the life span of a person.  It is only naturally to include meditation as part of the way to men’s health.

A month or so ago, I stumbled upon a beginner blog www.onemansgoal.com and was pretty impressed by this young man Bryan.  His mission was simple yet dynamic: To make it in the blog-world in 365 days, and as he says it: “Follow along on my journey to build a full time web income. Armed with nothing but ambition and intelligence, I aim to take the community by storm.”  It was interesting to follow his development since he started about 4 months ago.  As of today, this is what he has achieved:  Alexa traffic ranking of 39,582, a Technorati ranking of 11,962 (as of 6th Nov 2007), Google PageRank PR4 and a daily unique visitors of 650 people!

This is quite an achievement for a young blogger to have within a short time only 4 months.  How did he do it?  I would say that he has all the right things of a blogging beginners.  Looking at his posts and communication with the world from his blog, I deduce the following factors that characterize a succesful blogger:

  1. He is determine, ambitious and intelligent.
  2. He is willing to learn from the internet gurus.  He wrote in his post that he sought for advices from a few well known internet gurus who are making money by blogging.
  3. He has written his plan, detailing what he wants month by month, how much traffic to drive to his blog, how much money from google adsense, how much to earn from affiliate programs.
  4. He reads widely, learn fast and willing to spend gruelling hours to put up many interesting and informative posts.
  5. He is creative and able to use different methods to get people to back link to him and come visit his blog.
  6. He interacts well with his readers, appreciative of people who come and help him.
  7. He has a master plan, and he knows what he wants.

Bryan, way to go. Keep us posted!

Expectation

“Expectation is a powerful attractive force. Expect the things you want, and don’t expect the things you don’t want”. This is a message taken from the world famous book The Secret. The message spells a certain truth. If we expect to get an increment in our salary, then the law of attraction will atract for us an increment in salary to come our way. Conversely, if we fear job lost or retrenchment and therefore subconscious expecting something bad will happen to us, then the law of attraction will bring forth the misfortunate befitting our conscious thinking and expectation. If this message would be true in its core, it is clear then that our conscious mind should constatnly focus on positive input, expect all good things to come to us. If we are desirous of things to have, events to come to us, it is then imperative for us to be conscious that our constant thought process be of the positive kind.
Theory or profound truth being such, how then can it be posible for this normal person to be liken in the same league as some sages, profound thinkers or highly successful lots?  Try hard as I may, it seems I am not as near what I have expected, or did I expect the positive things, I wonder.  I read in some blogs the best form of expectation is to visualize what you want.  Here I am, I am putting down in record and for posterity sake that I want to earn US$100,000 by 31st Mar 2008! God is my witness, and you as the readers of this post will bear truth to this Secret of the Law Of Attraction!

Be Inspired Always

I feel rejuvenated after a good rest.  Somehow the last post which I wrote at the wee hour of Saturday night affected me even in my sleep last night.  I woke up feeling a bit tired yet strangely rejuvenated.  In my mind I remember my younger days of playing in the woods, of catching tadpoles in the stream or doing some silly things together with the neighbour kids.  The picture of watching a little butterfly wriggling and struggle out of its cocoon somehow emerged from my mind.  I am beginning to see a resemblance between the journeys of blogging with the metamorphosis of a butterfly.  Just as the butterfly starts its metamorphosis in an egg, the ideas or some ingenious thoughts of blogging spring forth from the mind.  Suddenly you can see a light bulb in your mind.  You feel inspired, you feel excited, you feel restless and you want to start immediately.  As the egg develops into a larva, the little wriggling worm begins to crawl slowly to explore the unknown and yet exciting world, its senses constantly attracted to the green leafy environment.  Obstacles, preys, unfamiliar and harsh environment are no deterrents to the naive larva, its eager mouth swallows every leafy green which provides the nutrients for it to grow into the pupa, an important step in its metamorphosis into the butterfly.  We too start our blogging journey slowly yet surely toward the unknown internet world.  The lucrative reward of internet business lures and bids us along the journey as we crawl step by step to the greener pasture.  Just as certain as the larva turns into a pupa, we will grow from an amateur blogger to a semi-pro or even a pro-blogger.  Pretty soon, the time come forth for the pupa to wriggle free and blossom into a beautiful butterfly.  We shall then blossom into an internet entrepreneur and we shall see the fruits of our labour.

When we started out blogging, most of us would have in mind that one day we can make some money from blogging.  (I know my buddy Francis started his blog without thinking about making money, well he was naive, un-informed exceptional.)  After a couple of months of blogging, it can become rather frustrating making only meagre income.  This is when we have to make sure we read other people’s blogs, talk to other bloggers, read motivational books, get ourselves be inspired always by stories of successful bloggers.  In fact, it is even more crucial that we have regular postings.  What I find rewarding is to read other interesting posts and make comments.  In the process, you will find inspiration to write your next post.

Stay FOCUS - The journey of a thousand mile begins with the first step.  Believe in yourself, and if you don’t, who else can believe you and your capability.

p.s. This post is written for you and especially for me. Thank you for reading.
