Eagels - The King Of The Sky

I have always been fascinated by eagles, so much so I can picture their piercing eyes looking intensely at their prey. They can be high up in the sky, the next moment they would be diving down at dead breaking speed onto the ground to snatch a running rodent. None of the birds can up-soar them in the sky. I believe that we can learn a lot from these creatures called the King Of The Sky.
Fascinated by this King Of The Sky, I read about their dwelling habits, their characteristics, their hunting nature and most of all, I would end up looking at pictures of the majestic flight in the sky. Recently, I read again one of the nature strangest thing a mother eagle would do to their young. By nature, mother creatures would try desperately holding their youngs within their fold. Mother eagles do it different. High up on the cliff, the male and female would have their eaglet in a nest built diligently before, making sure that it is comfy and secure for the young eaglets and the mother. But the moment when the eaglets are ready to fly, the mother eagle would slowly throw the feathers, the downs and the twigs off the cliff. She would then rock the nest so vigoruosly that the eaglets have no choice but to leave the nest. Even if they don’t, she would push them around and then, in one fell swoop, she picked up the eaglet closest to her and in a flurry of wing thrashing, threw it out of the nest. In fear the eaglet furiously flapped its wings… getting nowhere fast. Suddenly from below the dad appeared and flew beneath the eaglet as if to support it as it crashed into, and landed on a nearby branch. Then they both stood there, as if to get up the guts to make another go of it. In a flurry of wings it was off again. Again, the father flew with it until it landed on a branch. It made a few more tries getting better every time until, quite by accident, it faced into the wind. MIRACULOUSLY it opened it’s wings and effortlessly glided out.
I learn that we can’t be too comfortable with ourselves. You see, the eaglet discovered that if he took the leap and relaxed, he would get what he needed. All along he had the instincts he needed; instincts that told him that the thermal wind currents would surely hold him up. He had to take the risk, give up control, listen to his encouragers …. and follow the beating of his own heart. We have within us the potential to be winner; sometimes we just need a bit of nudge to get out and soar like an eagle, to be like the King Of The Sky!
